CAMOT is short for China Association for Management of Technology. This international organization is a United Nations partner committed to supporting researchers and professionals who are engaging research in strategic management of technology and innovation in China.
The CAMOT international conference provides a forum for researchers, academics and practitioners in Western countries to have close interaction with their Chinese counterparts. The knowledge sharing and creative collaboration from the conference is vital in keeping up-to-date on emerging new global paradigms of the business environment. Published works on the management of technology are distributed through the Journal of Management of Technology in China (JCMT).
Our strategic management class is a capstone course in at the Naveen Jindal School of Management course led by Dr. Shawn Carraher. With his leadership, we have a unique opportunity as undergraduates to submit our peer-reviewed research to international conferences. In July 2015, Dr. Carraher was awarded Best Paper Prize at the CAMOT conference and has encouraged us to submit our research for consideration at the 2016 conference hosted in the United Kingdom.
To encourage student research, your donation to #COMETStoCAMOT will be used to underwrite the registration fees for student paper submissions and assist in travel expenses to the conference.
Initial Goal: $1,500 | Cover the cost of 5 conference registrations ($300 ea.)
Stretch Goal: $2,500 | Student travel expense stipend to the Oct. 2016 conference.
Dr. Hasan Pirkul, Dean of JSOM, has presented us with a matching gift challenge. He will provide a 1:1 match for all donations made to our project if we reach our $1,500 goal. His matching money will be allocated to help cover travel costs to the 2016 conference for student(s) invited to present their research.
