Raising Dollars for Public and Nonprofit Management Scholars

Help future Comets serve local, regional, and national communities by learning and participating in opportunities that offer invaluable experiences. This platform is set-up to help raise funds for Public and Nonprofit Management (PNM) students seeking to participate in various conferences, competitions, and other academic events. Students are often nominated or selected to participate in these highly selective events, yet are forced to withdraw because of financial constraints. This is your opportunity to change that!

Our Goal - We Need You!

"Raising Dollars for PNM Scholars" aims to raise $5,000 to provide a stipend of at least $500 to PNM students’ academic-related participation and travel costs. Each dollar raised is a huge contribution to helping build a bright and innovative future for theses Comets. Your support is vital in allowing these students to take full advantage of their UT Dallas education.

Who We Are

Below you will find a list of specific students and projects that have already been nominated, selected, approved, or registered for participation. However, our goal is to fund at least 10 students in total and these requests may arise later in the semester.

Amber Brown

2017 NASPAA - Batten Student Simulation Competition: Indianapolis, Indiana - February 24-25, 2017

Amber hopes to compete with graduate students coming from other NASPAA schools around the world in a dynamic daylong competition. Fellow public administration and policy students will analyze a food security problem - related to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals - and present their solutions to a panel of expert judges. The competition will feature a simulation model, which requires students to apply the skills they learned in the classroom and implement systems thinking. By funding Raising Dollars for PNM Scholars, you will help facilitate Amber’s trip to the NASPAA Competition, meet and connect with other public affairs students from around the globe, and learn how to use modern simulation technology to address relevant worldwide issues.
