Class: BPS 4305 Sec. 501, Strategic Management, Instructor Dr. Shawn Carraher
We have Oxford in our sights! Our strategic management class, nicknamed #OxfordBound, is rallying to help our fellow undergraduate students represent the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM) at an international academic conference next month.
JSOM is at the forefront of preparing future leaders and is one of a select few business schools to have undergraduates submitting published work. Under the direction of Dr. Shawn Carraher, students in his capstone strategic management classes research relevant business topics and submit their peer-reviewed work to multiple international academic conferences. This semester, six JSOM undergraduate students have the opportunity to present their work at the 13th Global Conference on Business & Economics (GCBE) held at University of Oxford Saïd Business School in the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, some students could not attend past conferences because of their financial need. The cost to attend conferences like GCBE ranges from $1,500 to $2,000 per student. We believe that financial challenges should never be a barrier to those who dream of academic excellence and could become future mentors of our children.
Recognition at academic conferences like GCBE sets our school apart from other business schools. This raised awareness of our highly ranked school benefits students, alumni and our community. Join us and use this opportunity to give back and make an impact for these students.
Our $4,000 class goal will help defray a portion of the traveling costs for students. Your tax-deductible donation will make it possible for them to present their research on an international stage and have their work published in an academic journal. This experience will offer students the opportunity to fellowship with mentors from the global academic community.
