Comet Closet: Back to School
You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
The Comet Closet was created in 2015 with an ambitious goal of ensuring that every student at UT Dallas can walk into a job interview on an even playing field and full of confidence.
We want our students’ appearances to reflect their level of talent when interviewing for professional positions. The Comet Closet accomplishes this by offering a resource to teach the fundamentals of dressing appropriately for the situation and by removing any financial burdens in acquiring a professional outfit.
Serving Our Students
The Comet Closet is a donation-based, nonprofit organization that serves UT Dallas by providing students in need with business professional clothing appropriate to wear to interviews and in the workplace. Clients, as they are referred to, receive a complete outfit consisting of a blazer, dress shirt, slacks or a skirt and shoe. There are no costs involved and the items are theirs to keep. The Comet Closet is located in the Naveen Jindal School of Management, and is dedicated to serving all undergraduate and graduate students of any major at UT Dallas.
The Impact of Your Donation
Interviewers often make the decision to hire a candidate within the first 10 minutes of an interview. Students who are better prepared to make a positive first impression will find themselves in the running for better positions.
Your financial gift will help us to ensure we have a comprehensive inventory of professional attire for men and women in a range of sizes. Currently, our greatest need is for men’s jackets and pants in smaller sizes, along with men’s and women’s shoes.
Our goal of raising $1,000 will allow us to purchase 10 full suits or 30 pairs of dress shoes!
Your gift may very well help a UT Dallas student launch their professional career!
A gift of any size will make a difference!
