Performances Start This Week!

October 28, 2019

Time for an Update!

Tech weekend was a great success and we cannot wait to share this production with you! It was a full two days designing lights, performing with costumes, and working with the band.

UTD's student newspaper, The Mercury, just released a video on our production. Check it out below to see our cast talk about the show and behind the scenes footage.

Our first performance is this Thursday, Halloween! All tickets for that performance are free, so show up early to get a good seat.

Tickets are going fast for November 1st and 2nd, so don't wait to get your tickets at the door for those nights.

We'll see you over at the Frankenstein place!

The Rocky Horror Show opens in 10 days! Can you believe it?!

Our tech process has already begun and we will soon start programming the wristbands. We will post more updates through tech and dress weekend, when the production really comes together.

Thank YOU for all the support through our fundraiser! We raised $6680, a phenomenal amount!

The site will remain open through the run of the production (but perks will disappear). We are still hopeful that the campaign will reach $8000 by the end of our show.

We cannot thank you enough!

Frank-n-Furter will see you at the show! He shivers with antici....

Help Us Finish Strong!

October 18, 2019

Light Up The Rocky Horror Show ends this weekend!

We are so grateful to all 202 donors who have contributed to our first crowdfunding project. We could not have accomplished this without you!

Looking through the list of donors, we all know someone who contributed to it - a family member, a friend, a classmate, and old friends from another state or even another country. It's amazing to see how much support you have given us on this project.

Every contribution made an impact and you've all shown that the arts matter at UT Dallas

Of course, we would love to meet our final goal! That was the dream when we started this fundraiser. Can you share Light Up The Rocky Horror Show on social media and say why you donated to it?

We can't thank you enough  for your donations and support for our production. As we get into tech and dress rehearsals, we'll share photos and videos of our progress here. And, when you see the show.... your wristband will be waiting for you!

Help us finish strong!

Ticket Giveaway and a Special New Perk

October 12, 2019

Our second full run through of The Rocky Horror Show is scheduled for tomorrow and we can't wait to see you in the audience soon. In the meantime, we have some exciting news:

The 2000 wristbands have arrived!

After opening the box yesterday, our Lighting Designer Chris Trevino began experimenting with the programming possibilities. You can see a sample of four wristbands programmed in the attached video.

With only 7 days to go, we have two announcements to push the campaign to the end!

First: All new donations of $5 will be entered into a drawing for a pair of front row seats to The Rocky Horror Show. We have ten pairs of tickets to give away and we will draw the first name at 2pm, Sunday Oct. 13th. Enter the drawing now and you'll get the best seats in the house!

Second: For all donors who have given $50 or more in our campaign, we are offering you a special opportunity to attend a workshop with our Lighting Designer to learn how programming the PixMob wristbands actually works. Come learn about this innovative technology and you may get the chance to program your own wristband!

With seven days left, help us make it to the end!

Thank your for support!

Only 11 Days to Go!

October 08, 2019

Rocky Horror rehearsals are in full swing. We had our first stumble through on Sunday and are now entering the polishing phase of the rehearsal process. We cannot wait to share this experience with you.

Thanks to your support, Theatre UTD will receive 2000 LED wristbands in a week!

PixMob sent us a few sample wristbands that can be operated with an iPhone App. It's been fun playing around with the possibilities of pulsing, changing colors, and strobe effects with the wristbands. Each wristband has the capability of creating 16 million colors, so our lighting design team will have a fun time designing the looks for each moment of the show.

We are still hoping to raise $8000 by the end of this campaign! With only $1700 to go, we believe it is possible, thanks to the support you have given so far!

Thank you for your donations and please continue to share this project so we can finish strong!

In Just Seven Days (That's a Week!)

September 28, 2019

Dear Friends!

Thank you all for your support to Light Up The Rocky Horror Show!

Because of your donations, we just purchased 2000 LED wristbands for our production! We were able to work a deal for wristbands that originally cost twice as much as the other bands the company offered initially. These new wristbands are brighter, reusable, and rechargeable. Every audience member may take these bands home as a memento from the show.

While we still have not raised the final total yet, our administration has faith that we will because we reached $5300 in one week.

We will continue to fundraise to reach our final goal and we cannot thank you enough for your donations so far!

In the following days, we will post more Thank You videos to our 166 donors. Thank you for your patience as we are rehearsing a show and creating personal songs for you!

We hope to see you at the production. Tickets can be found here. Faculty, students, and staff can present their Comet Card for free admission as long as the show is not sold out.

In just seven days (that’s a week!) you made it happen!

We Reached Our Initial Goal

September 25, 2019

Thank you to our 78 donors who helped us reach $2500 in only 4 days!

We are truly amazed by your enthusiasm to make this idea happen. With a total goal of $8000, we still have an uphill climb!

Our new milestone goal is $4000 and we hope to reach that by October 1st!

We are 31% of the way to our total goal to fund the LED wristbands. Help us drive the campaign to the finish.

We're off to rehearsal again. Thanks for your support!

50 Donors!

September 22, 2019

Thank You to our first 50 donors!

We are so grateful for your support of UTD Theatre and the UTDance Ensemble. It is truly wonderful to see a wide range of people support the Arts at UT Dallas.

The initial $1606 that you have donated puts us at 20% of our ultimate goal to provide each audience member with wearable technology. We still have a way to go, but these first 48 hours of the campaign give us a lot of hope!

Our cast and crew are working on Thank You videos, so please keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook stories. You never know when a song from Riff Raff, Janet, or Frank-n-Furter may appear just for you!

For those that claimed perks like signed posters, prop packs, and cameos: we will contact you individually this week to make sure we know when to expect you at The Rocky Horror Show!

Today, our cast is running through Act One, and your support gives us an extra jolt of energy for the Time Warp!

Please continue to share our campaign! Also, remember that your gift to this UTD Impact page is Tax Deductible (something that Brad appreciates very much).

A Toast to You!
