Texas-Sized Christmas

The University of Texas at Dallas Student Government is joining Texas-Sized Christmas, a statewide initiative led by For the Students at The University of Houston. As cases of COVID-19 soar throughout the state, many individuals are losing jobs in rates never seen before. As a result, many families and students will not have the means to provide food for the holidays. Eight universities across Texas are hoping to collectively combat this by launching a variety of grassroots campaigns to raise money for local food banks.

As part of Team Dallas, we are encouraging members of the Dallas and Comet Community to donate to the North Texas Food Bank, Minnie’s Food Pantry, and the Comet Cupboard here on campus.

How to donate to North Texas Food Bank:

Visit the North Texas Food Bank to donate.

Email a screenshot of your receipt to, and we will match your donation (more info about the match fund below).

How to donate to Minnie’s Food Pantry:

UTD Student Government has allocated $4,000 to match donations in this Texas-Sized Christmas initiative. When you donate to the North Texas Food Bank, Minnie’s Food Pantry, or Comet Cupboard, we will match your donation up to $500 by donating to the Comet Cupboard. While funds last.

If I donate to North Texas Food Bank or Minnie’s Food Pantry, where will my donation be matched to?

No matter where you gift is given, the Student Government will match your donation amount by donating the same amount to the Comet Cupboard, the food pantry here on campus at UT Dallas.

Who is leading this initiative at UT Dallas?

Who will my donation go to help?

When will the donation matches end?

Gifts will be matched until the $4,000 matching fund is depleted.
