Support the UT Dallas Chamber Singers' first international tour

The UT Dallas Chamber SingersThe UT Dallas Chamber Singers will embark on an 8-day concert tour of Spain visiting Madrid, Toledo, Jaén and Malaga. Never before in the University’s 53-year history has a UTD choir embarked on an international tour such as this one, and we are grateful for the support of our friends, family and patrons of the arts at UT Dallas.

The 27-member UT Dallas Chamber Singers will depart Friday, March 10 flying nonstop to Madrid. We will tour both Madrid and Toledo performing a full-length concert in one of Madrid’s historic and majestic churches. Our concert program is a survey of American choral music that attempts to express the best of our story, our spirit and our unanimity with others both near and far.

Our tour then has the choir driving south to the city of Jaén where we will visit students and faculty at the Superior Conservatorio de Música de Jaén. We then travel south where we conclude our time in Spain with a 3-day residency at the Superior Conservatorio de Música de Málaga on the Costa del Sol (Sun Coast). UTD students will spend time rehearsing with the Conservatory Choir in preparation for a combined concert presented in one of Malaga’s awe-inspiring churches. Students will also attend regular music classes at the conservatory, learn about the Spain’s educational system, and be coached by the conservatory’s voice and conducting faculty. UTD singers will also have the opportunity to explore Malaga and hike to the top of Gibralfaro Castle, visit the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and experience the magic of the Costa del Sol.
