Support Oozeball and help fellow Comets in need

What is Oozeball?

Oozeball has returned for its 19th anniversary, Comets! Since launching in 2002, the annual mud volleyball tournament of Oozeball has become a staple tradition at UT Dallas. It is hosted by the UT Dallas Student Ambassadors and University Recreation. This full-day event consists of fun in the mud activities, like tug of war and slip n' slide, all of which surround the main attraction: a 24-team volleyball battle for glory. The event is primarily for students, but alumni, faculty and staff are also encouraged to join in the fun!

The Impact

As part of the Oozeball tradition, the Student Ambassador Program donates the proceeds from the event in support of on-campus programs and offices that significantly give back to the UT Dallas community and its students. This year, the Ambassadors elected that all proceeds from the event will be given directly to the UT Dallas Comet Cupboard. The Comet Cupboard provides personal care and food items for students in need and was one of the first college food pantries in Texas, opened fall of 2012. With the current rising costs of living and education, funding for this program is essential as additional students utilize its services. The program leaders strive to support students in a judgment-free zone while also conveying to student volunteers the value of service. Their vision is a campus culture where a strong community is valued above individualism. All donations are tax-deductible, and a donation of any amount helps tremendously.

Who We Are

The Student Ambassador Program is sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. It is a diverse group of student leaders who advance the University by serving as the face of the student body. They assist with events hosted by thePresident and other leaders on campus and promote University pride. In addition, they plan and execute events for students such as Oozeball.
