Support the AIGA UTD Comet Gala

We are AIGA UTD, the first design organization on campus that fosters talented designers and design thinking to promote interdisciplinary collaborations among all students. We aim to develop a strong community amongst UT Dallas’s most creative students. We encourage students to collaborate and be more involved in the intersection of Art and Technology. 

Our biggest annual event, Comet Gala, empowers creatives at UT Dallas to design a future for themselves and others for a more inclusive world through art and design. Comet Gala gathers a community of collaboration and innovation to open a new horizon of multidisciplinary creations. AIGA UTD reflects our mission through every Comet Gala to “empathize, explore, and empower.”

With over 500 attendees from last year's 2022 Comet Gala, including the UT Dallas community, parents, professors, and students from other universities, we aim to raise $5,000. We strive to expand the event so that it is open to design experts in the field and AIGA sister chapters from UNT, UTA, and TWU. We want to create networking opportunities for our creative students at the event. Funds raise will go towards executing the event: purchasing crafts and materials for our students to create fantastic artwork, decorations, catering, activities and performances.

With your support, we'll be able to assist over 11 collaborators that are UT Dallas student organizations to perform at the Comet Gala while creating the most immersive experience for attendees at the intersection of art and technology.

The impact of the Comet Gala from last year promoted more interdisciplinary collaborations among designers with non-designers on various projects. We continuously encourage collaboration and innovation through design so the UT Dallas community may design their big idea to impact the world positively. 

The given funds will be used toward the Comet Gala that will occur on April 7th, 2023. Any additional funds raised will support next year's Comet Gala, and 5-10% of any additional funds will go toward supporting other AIGA UTD events, such as portfolio workshops, inviting prominent design speakers for our conferences, the annual Design Exchange challenge, and more.
