The Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology is excited to announce a heartfelt initiative in celebration of UTD Homecoming 2023 and in tribute to beloved Professor Emeritus of Literature and Creative Writing Fred Turner. Your support will honor his lifelong dedication to the craft of poetry and literature.
By making a gift today, you’ll directly contribute to the enrichment of literature programs at UT Dallas, including hosting renowned poets and scholars. Your contribution will inspire students across disciplines and members of the broader community.
Please give generously today to help us achieve our $10,000 fundraising goal. Bass School Dean Nils Roemer has pledged a matching gift of $5,000, effectively doubling the impact of your contribution, dollar for dollar!
If you have been moved by the beauty and power of words or enriched by Professor Turner’s teachings, please consider making a generous gift today. Your contribution can help unlock the Dean’s Fund matching gift and foster a passion for the literary arts for generations to come!
The Bass School Mission
The Bass School prepares global citizens who investigate and explore complex issues, innovate new forms of expression, and engage communities to advance the common good by promoting curiosity, critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural understanding.
The Bass School was created to address the needs of a new generation of artists, performers, and scholars. The school brings together the Schools of Arts and Humanities, founded in 1975, and ATEC, which began as the first arts and technology degree in Texas in 2002. The Bass School continues the tradition of academic and research excellence for which The University of Texas at Dallas, a Carnegie R1 Doctoral Institution, is known.
