Support Strings Attached to share music across campus

Strings Attached is a student organization devoted to enhancing the UT Dallas campus culture and experience through musical performances on an educational and entertainment foundation. Our main programs include monthly themed concerts in which members perform with one another in front of their fellow students. We also hold weekly practice meetings where students are encouraged to attend and learn from one another and enjoy practicing music. On occasion, we host social events as well to various locations and venues.

As UT Dallas successfully attracts more students to attend this growing university, our membership and student engagement is also expanding. We consistently attract upwards of 100 students from all backgrounds to our free concerts held on campus. Our large membership also enables our organization to now have an outreach towards the greater community. Performances and workshops are now made possible in locations such as local schools and community events. Having an active role in the Dallas community would enhance this university's public image while also providing our members the opportunity to practice and enjoy the performance of music. These projects require essential needs such as audio equipment, instrument maintenance and travel expenses. Musical equipment such as cables, amps, microphones and instrument accessories will also enable our organization to provide music lessons to fellow students that may be unable to add musical courses to their class schedules. These projects and education initiatives will provide a more memorable experience for our student body.

Although students have the option of taking a music course instructed by a professor; for many students, this is not a viable option due to tuition rates or degree plans limiting their options. That is why our organization has fostered such a massive following and that is why we feel it is necessary and wise to launch this project. Upon receiving these funds, we will be able to secure and schedule performances at local events. We are confident that we will succeed in raising the funds because our vision involves passion dedicated to our fellow students and this university. Our mission directly aligns with our vision of creating a fun and rich campus experience for UT Dallas students.
