The Wind Energy Club is excited to present Comet Wind, the UT Dallas team participating in the 2025 U.S Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC). The CWC is a year-long national competition that helps college students prepare for jobs in the wind and renewable energy workforce through real-world experiences with wind energy technology, project development, finance communications and outreach. Founded in 2021, Comet Wind has expanded from four members to over sixty. Last year our team placed 5th overall in the 2024 Collegiate Wind Competition.
The CWC consists of three sub-contests:
Fundraise for Collegiate Wind Competition
With your support we can bring more of our members to the competition finals with us this year. As our funds are limited, we are not able to bring all our involved team members to the CWC. The competition is an amazing place for student growth and industry connections and we want to maximize those benefits with our member base. Your donations will be used for travel expenses to Phoenix, Arizona for the CWC finals. Traveling to the competition requires huge logistical problems, such as housing, food and transportation, and having the extra support can make all the difference in our journey.
