Support Experiential Learning Through Riipen Projects at UT Dallas
The University Career Center at UT Dallas is proud to offer impactful, real-world experiential learning opportunities through Riipen, a platform that connects students with employers to work on short-term projects. These projects allow students to apply classroom knowledge in practical, career-relevant settings while gaining critical experience, mentorship and exposure to professional industries.
We are seeking support to increase student access to Riipen projects. Your gift will help us cover project partnership fees and expand offerings, enabling more students to benefit from meaningful experiences that boost their confidence, sharpen their skills and enhance their career readiness.
About the Riipen Program at UT Dallas
Through the Riipen platform, UT Dallas students across a wide variety of disciplines collaborate with employers on short-term projects tailored to real organizational needs. Project topics range from marketing and communication to software development, data analysis, scientific research, strategic planning, user experience design, policy analysis and beyond.
Students gain hands-on experience, receive real-time feedback and build their professional networks, all while supporting businesses, non-profits and government agencies.
Faculty see the difference. One UT Dallas instructor noted:
“Riipen provided my students with valuable experience in data analysis, program development and marketing. The diverse, vetted projects let students apply their academic training in meaningful ways. Employers were engaged and supportive, helping students strengthen teamwork, apply course concepts and stay focused on their career goals.”
What Students Are Saying
Student feedback reinforces the impact of Riipen projects on skill development and career readiness. In a recent survey:
- 100% of students reported improved professional communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- 91% of students said they used industry-relevant tools and felt more prepared for internships and jobs.
- 82% of students said they plan to feature their project on a resume or portfolio and have taken concrete steps toward their career goals.
With your support, we can continue to make these high-impact opportunities accessible to all students, ensuring every student regardless of major has the chance to engage in transformative learning beyond the classroom.
