Support Immigrant UTD Students In Need


The UT Dallas Comet Care Fund (UTDCCF) provides critical financial assistance to immigrant students facing unforeseen emergencies that could jeopardize their enrollment or educational progress. This fund is designed to help students overcome immediate financial hardships — such as increased immigration and citizenship related fees and expenses, unexpected travel, housing expenses, food insecurity or tuition and fees — ensuring they stay on track toward graduation.

 Supporting immigrant students during challenging times ensures that they can remain focused on their academic and personal goals at UT Dallas.

Our fundraising goal for the UTDCCF ImpactUTD drive is $5,000. Reaching this goal will allow the UTDCCF to become a safety net for immigrant students who face unexpected hardships and have limited income-generating options.

About the Immigrant Student Community at UT Dallas

The UT Dallas immigrant community includes over 3,500 students from over 80 countries. The majority are in the United States in the following visa categories: asylum, legal permanent resident and a variety of dependent immigration categories.

Our funding priorities:

Provide assistance to students for the following:

  • Funding for USCIS application costs for students applying for humanitarian relief, naturalization or other applications.
  • Medical expenses (hospitalization or medication costs).
  • Unexpected travel due to emergencies.
  • Housing expenses resulting from unforeseen circumstances.
  • Assistance for students facing food insecurity.
  • Support for those who have lost financial resources due to victimization (e.g., scams or theft).
  • Coverage for tuition fees to prevent dropped courses due to non-payment.


The Office of Immigrant and Citizenship Services within the International Center is committed to serving UT Dallas international and immigrant students, campus units and University administration through accurate and prompt immigration services, programming, advocacy and outreach.
