Brain Bee UT Dallas aims to bring high school students together for an annual competition of neuroscience trivia. Our chapter will include participants from around North Texas and will mirror operations of other Brain Bee chapters across the U.S. By bringing together high school students from various localities, we are able to increase interest in neuroscience while allowing students to experience on campus resources simultaneously. Many students have an interest in neuroscience, but aren’t given the platform to apply their skills and expand their knowledge prior to college. Students will meet those with similar interests, including peers, professors on campus, as well as college students that are part of our own team. Students who win our Brain Bee will go on to the National Brain Bee, furthering their passion for neuroscience across states!

Our ultimate fundraising goal, to allow us to successfully host annual Brain Bee competitions on campus, while giving the competitors and their families an enjoyable experience is $3,000. The funds will go toward food on the day of the competition, to ensure students are energized to perform their best, materials for written portions of the competition, souvenirs and transportation for students from their respective areas. We aim to expand the reach of our competition to more students and schools, which we hope to do by hosting Brain Bees successfully for years to come.
