Support UTDULR!
The University of Texas at Dallas Undergraduate Law Review (UTDULR) is a prestigious academic journal run by undergraduate students that is dedicated to exploring the intricacies of law and policy. Each semester, our team of editors, writers, and executive staff collectively produce high-quality law review articles, hosts events and seminars, and helps prepare students pursuing careers in law and public service. Our organization’s initiatives are crucial as they foster critical thinking and a deeper understanding of policy and law among students from diverse academic backgrounds, equipping them with essential skills that transcend their educational pursuits.
The impact of UTDULR extends well beyond our group. By providing a platform for undergraduate students to publish their legal research, we are fostering a community of informed, engaged citizens who are better prepared for future careers in law and related fields. Our workshops and events create valuable networking opportunities and offer practical insights into the legal profession, benefiting students at UT Dallas and the wider community by promoting informed discussions on critical legal issues.
Our key programs include:
• Bi-Annual Law Review Publication: A peer-reviewed journal that showcases exemplary student scholarships.
• Speaker Series: Events featuring esteemed legal professionals sharing their experiences and insights into the legal field.
• Workshops: Opportunities for students to develop their writing and research skills through interactive educational sessions.
Our primary project this year is to enhance the scope and reach of our publication. We aim to do this by using the funds raised to directly cover our operational costs, including printing and publication fees, hosting the first UT Dallas Legal Research Symposium, and purchasing legal research resources.
To realize our vision for this year, we have set a fundraising goal of $1,000.
The funds raised will be as follows:
• 40% of this cost will be used to cover printing and distribution for the physical copies of our legal publication.
• 40% will be used to host a Legal Research Symposium in April to showcase the research of our writers to distinguished lawyers and academics.
• 20% of the cost will be used to fund subscriptions to research databases and legal writing textbooks to build the array of resources we offer students.
Should we exceed our fundraising goal, we have identified several stretch goals that would significantly enhance our impact:
• Digital Presence Development: We aim to upgrade our website and online platforms, making our research and articles more accessible and engaging through multimedia content.
• Expanded Social event and Workshop Offerings: Increased funding would enable us to offer a broader range of workshops and lecture seminars in which we can invite legal professionals, academics, and other prominent lecturers. Additionally, the funding would go towards social and networking events for students who are part of and connected to UTDULR.
Finally, we would love it if you could follow our work.
